Keep your existing business phone numbers when you switch to VoipPlus. We handle the porting process for you.
Gather these items before starting the porting process to avoid delays.
Request a CSR from your current provider. This document shows your account details exactly as they appear in their system.
Call your current provider and ask for a "CSR" or "Customer Service Record." Most provide this within 1-2 business days.
We provide the LOA form for you to sign. This authorizes VoipPlus to port your numbers from your current carrier.
The name on the LOA must exactly match your current account name.
A copy of your most recent phone bill helps verify account information and shows all numbers on your account.
PDF or clear photo of the bill is acceptable.
Provide all phone numbers you want to transfer: main line, fax, direct numbers, and toll-free numbers.
You can port some numbers and leave others with your current provider if needed.
Timeline depends on your current carrier. Here are typical expectations.
| Carrier Type | Typical Timeline | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Landline (AT&T, etc.) | 7-14 business days | Requires CSR, may have ETF |
| Cable (Comcast, etc.) | 10-15 business days | Check contract terms |
| Other VoIP Provider | 5-10 business days | May require port-out PIN |
| Toll-Free Numbers | 3-7 business days | Separate process from local |
Provide your CSR, signed LOA, recent bill, and list of numbers to port.
VoipPlus submits the port request to your current carrier on your behalf.
Carrier confirms with a Firm Order Confirmation date when the port will complete.
On the FOC date, your numbers switch to VoipPlus. We monitor the cutover.
Keep your current service active until the port completes. Canceling early will release your numbers and you may lose them.
The name on your LOA must exactly match your current account. "ABC Corp" vs "ABC Corporation" can cause rejection.
VoipPlus does not charge fees to port your numbers. Your old carrier may charge an early termination fee if under contract.
Porting is designed to be seamless. There may be seconds to minutes of transition, but extended downtime is rare.
Carriers cannot refuse a valid port request (FCC regulated). They can reject for information mismatches, which we help resolve.
